Guess what? I hit my goal….

19 Apr

Ever think you will never get back to the weight you once were. You know the weight where you actually like the way you look in pictures, the weight where you felt like everything you put on looked good. Well its been a long time since I’ve been there;

Me in 2004….145 lbs

Today I went to weight watchers to celebrate a big day. I hit my goal….150 lbs :) ))

Can I tell you it is the best feeling in the world!! 30 lbs down since I had my last daughter and only 5 lbs away from where I was 9 1/2 years ago at my skinniest! I never miss a meeting, faithfully go to zumba and keep my eye on the prize. But, I have to say having a support network has helped me so much. I can share my successes and my struggles. I am a real person and I am not always perfect and I did it. If I can anyone can!!

Here’s to Weight watchers and my leader Jeanie!! THANK YOU!!!

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Protein Cookies

14 Apr

Do you like cookies? So do I, I especially like cookies that I don’t feel guilty about eating. These cookies are full of healthy fats, fiber and protein. They are sweet, soft and very filling. These are the perfect thing to keep in your car for easy snacking, to take on a hike or to throw in your lunch box.  The original recipe was created by Elena Oliverio, at the Isagenix support page. I did substitute dark chocolate for the dried cranberries she suggested. Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Protein Cookies

 Makes 40 cookies

  • 2/3 cup natural peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs 1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups oats
  • 3/4 cup ground flaxseed meal
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 scoops chocolate whey protein powder ( I used Isagenix Dutch Chocolate)
  • 2 Tablespoons dark chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix together eggs, brown sugar, applesauce, peanut butter and vanilla.
  3. Add protein powder, oats, flax meal, salt and baking soda.
  4. Drop tablespoon full of dough onto cookie sheets. Bake for 8-10 min.

2 points + each :)

Isagenix 30 Day Program

Lisa’s Post-

“Good morning!  It’s been a great week! I found my appetite shrank beyond recognition. There were several days that I would forget to eat some of my snacks. I just wasn’t hungry!  ME….NOT HUNGRY!?!?

Also, during this last week we had birthday celebrations for 2 of our kids. I wasn’t tempted in the least in regards to the sweets. I can really feel healthy new habits forming.

Another thing I learned this week is that it is time to step up the activity. Now that it is starting to get a little nicer outside, I need to get the kids out for a walk. Fresh air and exercise…..good for the kids and good for me! Here are my results (in inches) for this week:

Arms: -1/2
Bust: -1
Rib cage: -2
Waist: -1 3/4
Abdomen: -1 1/2
Buttocks: -1
Thighs: -2

Total inches lost (not all measurements listed above): -13 3/4

Total weight lost this week: -2.4

Total weight lost to date: -13.2 pounds (in 2 weeks)

Have a great week!

Lisa

Guest Post~ One step closer to her goal weight!!!

29 Mar

Ever had a baby? Did you expect that weight to just fall off and leave the hospital in your pre-pregnancy jeans? Or perhaps you decided to breastfeed and from what you heard the weight just melts off!! Ha! The only thing melting around me was the ice cream I was shoveling in my mouth, while I was breastfeeding. What do you know I still stayed fat…..

One of my childhood friends, Lisa, has been struggling with her weight since she had her 4th child two years ago. She has been reading my posts and decided to kick her weight loss into overdrive and try out this cleanse thing……here is her first weeks post.

Lisa’s Weekly Weigh in Week 1

Good morning!

My name is Lisa and I love Weight Watchers and find it to be a great way to lose weight. However, after having my fourth child, I have had a very difficult time shedding the pounds. So I took a realistic look at what was holding me back.

Habits….BAD habits.

Each week after I would attend my weekly WW meeting, I would hit the Starbucks drive thru for a Frappachino and a Breakfast sandwich.  Then I would run to the grocery store for some sort of “naughty treat” for after dinner that night. I just had a good weigh in, so I deserved a reward….right?  And I had the next seven days to work it off, right?  NO!!!!

My other downfall is that I LOVE my evening/bedtime snack. After I would put the kids to bed, I would make a bowl of air popped popcorn sprayed with olive oil and Kosher salt. Nothing beats a good book and a bowl of popcorn. I saved WW points for my popcorn, so I wasn’t going over on my points. But I was saving 1/3 of my daily points allowance for this evening snack.

After taking an honest look at myself, I realized that I needed something that would force me to change those bad habits.  That is why I chose to do the 30 Day Cleanse. I needed something simple, effective, and long enough to set some good habits!

I started on Monday and here are my 5 day results:

Arms: 1.25
Bust: 1.5
Rib cage: 1
Waist: 1.75
Abdomen: .75
Buttocks: 1
Thighs: 1.5

Total inches lost (not all measurements listed above): 12.75

Total weight lost: 10.8 lbs in 5 days!

Also keep in mind that during these past 5 days I have only been able to squeeze in one short walk with the kids. So these results are from basically no exercise.

Have a great day!!!!!

Lisa

You are amazing girl!!! Congrats and can’t wait to see what next week brings!!!! for more info on what Lisa is doing check out my posts!

Final Results of my 9 days Isagenix Cleanse!

23 Mar

If you haven’t been following my posts the last 2 weeks, I have been trying something different than my usual weight watchers eating plan. My friend and Zumba Instructor, Becky, has been raving about the Isagenix cleansing programs for more then a year. She is very athletic and looks amazing, so I finally decided to give it a try. Although my results were awesome, the most exciting part is that I completed it. I honestly did not think I (the cheating queen, brownies who ate the brownies not me) could follow a strict program, but I did.  Was it hard? There were some tricky parts, but I prevailed. I now know I can conquer any food challenge. I can say no! I can stop when I am full! I did it and you can too! Here is my progress up to this point….

I am so impressed with how my body has changed! I love these products and I am planning on continuing the 30 day program starting on Monday combined with weight watchers!

Want to have more energy, lose that extra weight and feel amazing, you have to try this program out!!!!

Here are some common questions people have!

1. Will I keep off the weight once I lose it?

The answer is, its up to you. This program will give you an awesome kick start, but it does not change your body’s metabolism, so as soon as you go off it, you can’t pig out. If you do, you will gain weight. Stick with your healthy eating program, like ww and you will do great!

2. How much does it cost?

It is about 15.00 a day for the 9 day (11 days total) But, Isagenix has 2 awesome options. If you only have 10 lbs to lose or less they have the cleanse I am doing. They also offer a 30 day cleanse. This pak  has more products for the person with more than 10 lbs to lose and also helps change habits! You can do a 9 day with it, but will have options once 9 days is done and can continue your weight loss. That one is only 1o.oo a day! If you think about how much you spend on eating out, daily coffees and drive thrus this program is very reasonable.

3. How will I know how to do it?

Not only do you get all the cool stuff with the kit, you get me:) You can refer to my blog and if you decide to do the program, I will personally help coach you! I love this program so much that I decided I wanted to help other people do it too! (I believe that much in it)

Isagenix Day 6/7 and going out to dinner

17 Mar

So the last 2 days were pretty similar. Shakes for breakfast a couple of snacks, another shake a couple more snacks. I am totally used to the routine. Last night my hubby and I decided to go out to outback for steaks.

Photo provided by Outback steakhouse

I told the waitress not to bring the bread. My husband really wanted an app, so we ordered the bacon cheese fries. (1/2 order) I ate 6 fries. Should I have???  maybe not, but I’m human and I still limited myself :) Then I got a side salad with dressing on the side and a 6 oz outback special. I asked for no sides. I personally do not like the steamed side veggies and I knew a baked potato with all the fixings was out of the question. When dinner was done, I felt full and completely satisfied! I am not sure of the complete calorie count, but I know the steak was 254.

Last night I felt great in a fitted shirt and jeans and my tummy definitely did not hang over my jeans as much. Yeah!

4 more days of the cleanse to go. I am feeling great. Tons of energy, skinnier and happy. What more could you ask for! I will check in again in a couple of days!!
