I did a review for Amy’s Kitchen’s Frozen Meals a while back and got hooked on their products. I am not a big fan of processed food, especially frozen meals. I find them to be either to salty or flavorless. They also tend to not be very filling and when your done, you still want a snack. I literally have tried tons of the Amy’s meals and have never been disappointed. They have AMAZING flavor and they are very filling. I also love to use them when I am doing my Isagenix cleanse, because they are filling and are filled with lots of veggies. They offer a TON of products, but today I am focusing on some of the new light and lean meals. Amy’s meals are all vegetarian, and they offere many gluten and dairy free options as well. They also only use Organic ingredients. You can find Amy’s at most grocery stores in the organic frozen section.
Amy’s just came out with a new line of meals called “Light and Lean” :
- Each meal contains less than 300 calories, 5g fat, and 590mg sodium.
- Each meal is 6 Weight Watcher Points in the PointsPlus program.*

Amy’s parents have spent a lot of time in India, bringing back recipe ideas for the many fabulous Indian meals which Amy’s Kitchen offers. Mattar Paneer is the most popular of these. Amy’s mom, Rachel, who like so many of us keeps a close eye on her calorie intake, asked our chefs to create a version of this meal that was lower in fat and calories for our “Light & Lean” line. They did it and without sacrificing flavor or nutrition. Amy’s Light & Lean Mattar Paneer is made with tender organic peas and Indian cheese in an authentic delicately spiced sauce, with basmati rice and a delightful blend of lentils and beans to round out the meal. This delicious dish has only 260 calories and tastes so good that we’re sure it will appeal to all who appreciate fine Indian cooking.
Light & Lean Quinoa & Black Beans with Butternut Squash & Chard
Amy’s Aunt Rentia, who teaches yoga, often cooks black beans, quinoa and vegetables starting “from scratch” – soaking the beans overnight, simmering them for hours in a crock pot, then chopping and steaming vegetables and cooking quinoa. Our family has enjoyed many a dinner at her home, marveling at how such simple food could be so tasty. We decided to create a similar meal for our customers to enjoy, without all the work. Amy’s Quinoa and Black Bean bowl is easy to prepare, high in fiber, low in fat and calories, gluten free and non dairy. You’ll be delighted with the great flavor of the organic black beans, quinoa, Swiss chard and butternut squash. And if you’ve never tried quinoa, you’ll be amazed at how satisfying this gluten free whole grain can be. So enjoy this simple, nutritious delicious meal.
Light & Lean Italian Vegetable Pizza
There comes a time, even with the most carefully followed diet plan, when one craves pizza and either fights valiantly against the craving or guiltily gives in. Amy’s mom decided that Amy’s Kitchen simply had to come up with an alternative to the available fat- and calorie-laden pizzas. This pizza, with its combination of organic spinach, delicious tomato sauce, artichoke hearts, mushrooms and low-fat cheese on a thin crust has only 280 calories, yet tastes good enough to satisfy your deepest cravings for pizza.
Here are the ones I reviewed before:
